The English group at Kalmar had some money available at the end of last term, so we're going to invest it in creating a training course for teachers wanting to create courses in Second Life, with an emphasis on people who don't have English as their native language.
The people working on this project at the moment are Peter Carlsson, the IT technician/trainer at the department where the English group is situated (called HV in Swedish) and myself, David Richardson, although we've already had offers of help from a couple of other people connected with the AVALON EU project which is just kicking off.
What's happening at the moment is that we're drafting the syllabus for the course. When we've got that passed, the course will be made available for applications via the Swedish national on-line university application system, http://www.studera.nu. After that we just need to produce the course! It starts in September, 2009, by the way.
We've started a separate course blog to document the process of creating the course. Click here to access it - everyone's welcome to join in!
